Your kitchen is one of the most important rooms in your home. Not only from a practical perspective, but also when it comes to the overall value of your property. Which is why so many people choose to renovate this room first. A kitchen renovation usually involves several steps in order to make sure that the room looks its best while serving all of its purposes. In order to prepare for a new worktop installation, you should keep these steps in mind:
Furniture installation
Make sure that your cabinets and furniture units are all fixed in place before you do anything else. If you have ordered new cabinets, you need to install them. If you are keeping your existing cabinets, you should inspect them and make sure that they are reinforced if need be.
Fit your fixtures
Now you need to make sure that your fixtures are all in place. This includes your taps, hob and similar essential kitchen features.
Install undermounted sink
If you are opting for an undermounted sink, you should secure yours in its support cradle. The top of the sink needs to be blush with the top of the carcass.
Remove old worktops
You will need to remove your old worktops in order to make room for the new ones. You do not have to do this until a day or two before your new stone worktops are scheduled to be installed. By doing so, you will make the installation process easier and quicker.
Once your worktops are installed, make sure that you have them cleaned and sealed. Regular sealing will keep your natural stone worktops looking their best.
